Ampere’s research products track millions of video games, TV, and film titles throughout their lifecycles. The Games Team at Ampere is looking to recruit a full-time Data Analyst Lead to support its leading games research products, which extend to title tracking, market data and forecasting, and consumer surveys.
Reporting to the Head of Games at Ampere, the Data Analyst Lead - Games will be responsible for: helping manage the regular data maintenance and updating of Ampere’s games research products; providing management and guidance to more junior games data analysts; helping manage responses to client data enquiries; liaising and collaborating with other teams within the company to support the delivery of the products to a high standard; managing projects related to the enhancement and expansion of data-focused products and outputs; and supporting the build out of data visualisation applications related to the games products.

Key Responsibilities
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the data flows and automated and manual processes which are used across Ampere’s games-related data-driven products
- Alongside other leaders, support the management of the existing Data Analyst colleagues within the Games Team to deliver weekly and monthly updates to the games research products; this will include collection, processing and checking of data flowing into those products
- Directly manage a sub-team of Data Analysts within the Games Team and prioritise workloads. Prior management experience is not a requirement, the role presents the opportunity to take on that role with support from our wider team
- Liaise with various teams across Ampere involved in the collection, delivery, and quality of the games research products; this includes the development, data quality, metadata and business analyst teams
- Respond to data-focused client queries related to the games products; this often involves creating custom queries and outputs related to games datasets
- Project manage the delivery of enhancements to the games research products; some of these projects will be cross-company, with others being within the Games Team
Skills & Experiences
The successful candidate will have
- Minimum three years of data analyst experience working in a dynamic environment
- Strong data skills – broad experience of coding with Python and using SQL for querying databases within a commercial environment are a requirement for this role
- A keen interest in the games sector and the business of games is a major plus. This is an opportunity to engage with some of the biggest games companies globally
- A high level of pro-activity. Ampere deals in large volumes of complex data and runs many processes daily. The Data Analyst Lead will have the opportunity to help shape the games products, while also leading with solutions to respond to customer requests
- A keen eye for detail, allied to a systematic approach for multi-tasking and managing multiple projects. The successful candidate would be responsible for the data entering three different data products initially, each of which is regularly updated
- Good interpersonal skills – the role will require the candidate to work closely with developers, product leads and data analysts, identifying priorities, explaining issues and developing successful workflows and practices.
