Senior Research Manager, Media Rights

We are looking to recruit a full-time Senior Research Manager to lead Ampere’s Sports Media Rights vertical. The primary responsibility of this role will be to drive the growth of a syndicated media rights data product, and lead the team responsible for supporting data collection and editorial output.

The role will require a background in the sport media rights space. Demonstrable understanding of how deals are made, awareness of major trends in the sector, and evidence of experience in research or analysis skills, will be required.

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Expand and further develop Ampere’s existing database of media rights deals
  • Manage a team of analysts responsible for building out and maintaining an exciting area of coverage
  • Maintain and build new models which underpin Ampere’s dataset, ensuring an optimal approach across both
  • Create thought-leadership pieces and present at industry events to drive awareness of Ampere’s expertise and data coverage of the sector
  • Produce engaging analytics pieces to support client understanding of trends and developments in the sport industry
  •  Create and drive commercial strategy and future expansions of the product, based on both market demand and commercial appeal
  • Engage with sales and marketing to support product marketing initiatives, support client sales conversations
  • Lead custom consulting projects on the media rights sector, alongside wider Ampere teams
  • Communicate effectively to senior management the status of product development and specific projects to ensure effective client / sales messaging

Skills & Experiences

The successful candidate will have:

  • A background in a research, strategy or analysis role in the sports media industry. This may have been acquired at a rights holder, brand, agency, an industry analyst house or a consultancy
  • An organised mindset, with the ability to plan and execute projects – and manage the workloads of others in a team
  • A good understanding of data structuring and how large datasets should be organised and built
  • Ability to distil complex information into concise pieces of research which meet client needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills, supporting conversations with clients, prospects and colleagues
