Content localisation on SVoD services
The importance to audiences of local content —both local-language content and content localised through either dubbing or subtitling—varies widely by market, as evidenced by the latest Ampere Consumer survey (Q3 2020). By comparing audience preferences with the availability of such content from the major international SVoD services—Netflix and Amazon Prime—we identified several gaps in the market between the services’ provision of localised content and local preferences.
