Profile: US pay TV trends
Ampere uses the new wave of Channels Q1 2019 data to investigate US Pay TV operators' channel offerings. Dish TV has the largest offering, and also the highest percentage of channels not offered by the other 10 operators analysed. However, while having a large number of international channels, and therefore appealing to a wide audience, Dish TV has the lowest number of premium channels following its on-going dispute with HBO. AT&T and Comcast's standard packages are the best value for money, while CableOne has the highest cost per channel. There were only 65 channel brands offered by all 11 operators, with Discovery owning 9 of these core channels.
